RAV LYALL
As someone who is in the business of making people smile, Rav Lyall says he could not see himself in any other profession. Helping patients feel confident and comfortable with their smiles, Rav and the rest of the staff at Burke Mountain Denture Clinic know that there is more to dentures than just oral health. "I'm really passionate about what I do, I really care about people's mouths and their oral health and restoring smiles," the denturist said.
Originally hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, Rav came to the west coast in 2001 and never looked back. He says it is the beautiful nature that surrounds him and the hometown feel that is native to the Tri-Cities that has kept him here. Yet, Rav says it is the people who make up the community that is truly special. "When I first came here to do my practicum, one of the first things I noticed about Port Coquitlam was the community's sense of welcoming," he said.
Rav, who has been the primary denturist at Burke Mountain Denture Clinic since 2007, understands that every patient is different. That is why every set of dentures is crafted by hand. "Every mouth is different and every smile is different," he said. "We make sure we achieve that in our work where we create natural looking dentures and make people confident about their smiles again." Likewise, a denture can help to fill in gaps that can start to show up in your teeth and restore your confidence and sense of well being. If you are concerned about the fit of a denture or you desire another option beyond a conventional denture, a great treatment of choice will be dentures over implants.
Helping people with their confidence and their ability to smile was something Rav was always interested in doing. When he learned the extent of just how much craftsmanship goes into being a denturist, he fell in love with his profession. Working with people, educating his patients about denture and dental care, and giving people options are three main tenets that make up his work philosophy. In spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and friends and travelling.
The clinic provides complimentary consultations and free denture cleaning and polish to all new patients. To learn more about denture options, visit Burke Mountain Denture Clinic's website, call 604-944-4910, or email bmdclinic@telus.net. You can also find them on Facebook.

Mr. Kim
Mr. Kim has been dedicated to helping his patients achieve excellent oral health and personalized denture restoration since 1997. He firmly believes that the denturist is a unique dental professional who completes prosthetic care - from the clinical to the laboratory stage - with complete quality control. While practicing this philosophy, his artistic perspective and dedication enabled him to make aesthetic pleasure, comfort, and function for his patients.
He is actively involved in the dental community, collaborating with a colleague and pursuing continuing education to offer the most current treatments. Also, he loves to participate in the dental topics in his field of study and gain knowledge in evidence-based dental treatment. He has conscientious expertise in the current dentures over implant systems and various implant-supported/retained denture techniques. His good understanding of the dental prosthesis and the TMJ mechanism will be valuable for a patient and colleague.
For the last significant 7-year, Mr. Kim has donned the role of a denturist instructor. This experience enhanced his understanding of the field and allowed him to mold the next generation of dental professionals. Teaching has given him a unique perspective, enriching his clinical practice with his acquired pedagogical insights.
In his time, besides dentistry, he enjoys outdoor landscape photography of beautiful British Columbia and spending time playing piano. He also has an interest in fine art and general science topics.
